Greyhound Ipswich Pub Garden | The Design Brief:
Transforming the pub car park into a contemporary dining and drinking space.
The scheme was designed in 2021 with a view to the then changing legislation surrounding the rules regarding the hospitality sector throughout the pandemic. It was designed with one eye on the rules, but also ensuring it would be a beautiful space that will be utilised after the pandemic.
Services:
A new pergola and planters were installed on the existing patio area. At the back of the pub garden car park, we designed and installed five custom built dining booths with tables made from reclaimed wood. We also created a stunning outdoor bar.
All framework for the structures were constructed in the workshop and then installed onsite. The internal frame benching for the dining pods was constructed on site. Wiring was added to allow heating to the pods for the late summer evenings and chilly winter nights.
Once the dining pods were installed at the Greyhound, our team then set about building five bespoke tables in our workshop, which are made out of recycled, sustainable timber.
Once we had built the new pergola to cover the pub garden outdoor dining area, we then laid Indian Stone paving and installed the planters, which were a great way to soften the outdoor space.
Most recently, we installed an an outdoor bar area, perfect for service during the busy summer months. Since the garden has been revamped, the Greyhound has gone on to become one of the most successful Adnams pubs not only in Ipswich but in Suffolk.
