Our brief:
Transforming a redundant space in the garden into a practical home office
Details:
Our customer wanted to turn their redundant garden space into a practical home office that could also double up to be used as a social family area. We decided that we could hit our brief of creating the office with a homely feel and also create a social family area that our customer desired by adding a decking and stylish landscaping to the surrounding area.
We started off by clearing and levelling the area and building a concrete base. The home office was partially built first, with the first phase predominantly being built offside. The component parts were then transported to the site in Surrey and assembled on site. The second fix work was then fully completed on site, such as the hanging of the doors and installation of the windows, the insulation lining and all of the electrical works. We even included a false chimney breast, complete with an electric heater to create a homely feeling and keep our customer warm during the winter.
Once the building was complete, we built the decking framing. The hard and soft landscaping was the last part of the project, and this included seating areas, planting schemes and a fire pit, for those long summer evenings.
